A larger throttle body will not help unless it is bottlenecking the system. The main reason to use a larger throttle body is when upgrading your camshaft to a more aggressive design. If you have not changed the cam, the air flow rate is not going to change (much), so all you'll do with a larger diameter throttle body is lower the air velocity.

During the same time period Δt, the fluid velocity and cross sectional area vary inversely. If the area increases, the fluid velocity decreases.
You will, however, notice "better throttle response". This is because the rate of change of the aperture is higher with a larger throttle body. The opening throttle plate allows more air to flow at a lower throttle position, so it will feel like the car is noticeably more powerful. However, once the engine reaches its maximum flow rate, it is not going to flow more even with the larger diameter throttle body. In short, it's just an illusion; you're just reaching the engine's maximum flow rate sooner.
